Double Trouble screengrab

We’ve just launched a ‘viral’ (I hate that word), for McKenna Bourbon.

Recipients of the piece think their friend has called into Nova 106.9 (thats in Brisbane) and has miraculously answered a rather tricky question, winning an all expenses trip to NYC for two.

What actually happens is, they’ve visited www.double-trouble.com.au, followed the prompts to enter their name and chosen a question (sport, entertainment etc).

The site then generates a unique code, which you must enter when calling a 1300 number (sorry only works in Australia). Once on the call the IVR (interactive voice recording) system talks to the web page and shows you the answer (on screen) to the question you’ve selected.

The IVR script talks to you just like a real radio show call-in, requesting your name, location and then asking you the question you specified (on the site).

Then with a little bit of magic, the audio (of your voice) merges a webcam shot of the Nova radio studio and makes a uniquely linkable file, which is viewed on the Nova website. This is then sent onto your unsuspecting friends.

For the setup visit Double-Trouble

…and here’s an example of what you’d recieve.

Nova Screen Grab

This wouldn’t have been possible without the developers and account team at Legion Interactive who helped us get the most out of the IVR tech.
